A Rocklin woman was arrested on charges that she left her 10-month-old son alone in a car that contained drugs. Gina Nicole Wolverton, 24, was arrested April 10 on a felony charge of possession of a designated controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of child endangerment. Wolverton allegedly left her 10-month-old son in her Ford Taurus while she went in to order food at the Prime Wok Express Restaurant on the 6000 block of Lonetree Drive in Rocklin. Wolverton reportedly told a Placer Sheriff’s deputy that her son was cranky and fell asleep while she was driving. She did not want to wake him when she arrived at the restaurant so she left him in the car, she reportedly said. During a consented search of Wolverton’s car, a deputy allegedly found 15 10mg methadone pills in a cigarette box. Wolverton reportedly told the deputy that she bought the pills from her ex-boyfriend for her sister, who is allegedly addicted to Oxycontin. Wolverton was arrested at the scene. – Jenifer Gee
