Halldin, Counter, Miller early leaders in Rocklin school board race

Five running for three seats

Susan Halldin, Dereck Counter and Rick Miller are the early leaders in the race for three seats on the Rocklin Unified School Board, as of 9 p.m. Tuesday night, according to results posted by the Placer County Elections Office.

Halldin had 4,577 votes or 27.81 percent, Counter had 3,884 votes or 23.6 percent and Miller had 3,487 votes or 21.18 percent, as of 9 p.m.

Tami Seigal and Mark Klang, the other two candidates in the race, had 2,674 votes or 16.25 percent and 1,834 votes or 11.14 percent respectively.

The early returns represent mail-in ballots only, according to the Placer County Elections Office. The 32,920 mail-in ballots represent less than half of the 74,076 registered voters in Rocklin.
