The Rocklin High boys basketball team shook off their poor-shooting woes on Wednesday night’s Nor Cal Tip-Off tournament opener and buried Galt 104-45 Thursday on the Thunder’s floor.

Rocklin’s scoring included 11-of-13 free throws and the team hit 14 3-point shots.

Darrius Kendall tallied 18 points and Jayden Siler followed with 15. Cory Gohl and Ethan Remmers, both joining the team following the football season, each had 14 points.

Rocklin is scheduled to play Spanish Springs at 5 p.m. Friday. The Nevada school advanced beating Chico 76-54.

Whitney 70, Kennedy 61

The Wildcats were challenged Thursday, but sent the Cougars into the bracket for third place.

Whitney plays St. Francis Friday at 8 p.m. St. Francis barely got by Grant, 62-60 Thursday night.

Whitney and St. Francis join Clovis West and Davis in the semifinals to determine which teams will advance to Saturday’s championship game at William Jessup University.
