CYCLING THROUGH PLACER COUNTY

Life in the Bike Lane

December in Placer County can be wet, which presents some problems for the avid cyclist.

If you are fortunate to have some flexibility, it is a good idea to wait for the streets and roads to dry out a bit. Remember that leaves, white lines and the road itself will be slippery after it rains.  Slow down.

If your bike doesn’t have fenders (at least one in back), you might want to buy a fender. That could prevent the “rooster tail” made by your rear tire on a wet street from creating a stripe up your back.
