Rocklin resident preps for 100th birthday partyBy: Placer Herald staff report
Rocklin resident Georgia Miller is gearing up to celebrate her 100th birthday on Feb. 14.
According to Casa De Santa Fe, where Miller lives, she was born and raised in Watsonville, by her seamstress mother and older sister. Later, when raising her two sons, Miller and a friend opened an interior design store called The Golden Butterfly. Miller still recalls the joy she found throwing events for customers and exploring her creative talent and passion for design.
Naola Johnson, Director of Activities at Casa De Santa Fe, said that age has not changed Miller’s desire to have fun, nor her recognition of the smallest act of kindness. Johnson added that Miller is known at Casa for her “gentle spirit and her love of music.” Her favorite activities are singing, watching entertainers and visiting with volunteers. Miller also enjoys spending time with her two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The residents and associates of Casa de Santa Fe are hosting a 100th birthday party for Miller on Feb. 14 at 1:30 p.m. Family and friends are inviting the Rocklin community to attend. Call to RSVP today at 916-435-8800. Casa de Santa Fe is located at 3201 Santa Fe Way in Rocklin.
