ROCKLIN – The Rocklin Little League Junior and 8-10 All Stars continue their seasons, along with Tri-City’s 10-12 Majors.

JUNIORS, North Natomas

District 11 champion Rocklin scored 41 points in their first two games of the Section 4 tournament and then defeated host Rio Linda (D6) 9-1 Tuesday to advance to the championship round, where they defeated Roseville (D54) twice for the championship.

At the California Divisions Tournament, Rocklin was beaten 6-5 by Section 1 Oakland Saturday. Rocklin sas scheduled to play Pleasanton Sunday.

MAJORS (10-12), Nevada City

Tri-City overcame a 4-1 loss to Lincoln in the first round of the District 11 championship and defeated the Zebra Town Nine 6-1 Saturday for the title.

TCLL moves on to Bill Conlin Sports Complex in Land Park (D7) and open Section 4 play against Lakeside (D54) Saturday.

The locals defeated Lakeside 4-2 and moved on to hand Fair Oaks/Orangevalle (D5) a 2-0 setback. TCLL was to play Land Park (D7) Monday afternoon.

9-11s, Lincoln

Tri-City came up a run short against Lincoln, 3-2, to wrap up the District 11 tournament.

Dylan Nusz and Brady Watkins both scored for TCLL, but Tri-City left five runners on base and lost the game on an error.

“These kids battled. We knew Lincoln was going to be tough and it came down to one play,” said TCLL manager Kevin Estes. “And that’s usually what it comes down to when you play a team like (Lincoln).”

Estes said he told Lincoln’s coach they would meet again next year.

Tri-City’s Jordan Runyan started on the mound and pitched an excellent game, giving way to reliever Kai Lorenzo in the fifth inning.

There were no home runs in either of the two title games, but Nusz tripled and Dylan Stoffle had a double.

8-10s, Nevada City

Rocklin came back to defeat Tri-City 15-5 and 11-10 last week to claim the District 11 crown and move on to Section 4.

The section tournament will be held in familiar Nevada City, where Rocklin lost to  Fair Oaks/Orangevale (D5) Thursday and was eliminated by Rio Linda (D6) Friday.
