A man armed with a black handgun robbed El Mariachi Restaurant around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday. The suspect, believed to be in his 20s, had a white handkerchief covering his face when he entered the business. As he approached the employee behind the counter, the suspect pointed to the gun, possibly a 9mm, in his waistband and demanded money. There were no customers in the restaurant at the time, reported Rocklin Police Lt. Lon Milka. After the employee handed over the cash, the suspect fled on foot in a northwestern direction across the shopping center parking lot in the 1200 block of Sunset Boulevard. Rocklin Police were joined by officers from Roseville Police and their K9 team in searching for the suspect. "The K9 tracked him into the Atherton Business Park, but lost the scent. He probably got into a car there," lt. Milka said. The suspect is described as 5’7” tall with black hair and a medium build. He was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
