Fathers of students at Breen and Valley View elementary schools took to the court Friday night for the second annual “Big Daddy B-Ball Showdown,” a fundraiser for both schools.

In addition to the game, which was won by the Valley View dads, the event featured food vendors, a raffle, the Whitney High School ROTC Color Guard and a performance by local youth band White Noise. Choirs from both schools performed the national anthem.

Jason Adams, representing Valley View students Megan and Austin Adams, said he was happy to hit the court to raise funds for the schools.

“Look at the families that are here,”?he said. “It’s a family atmosphere. There’s nothing better than that. It’s why we love Rocklin.”

Each school kept its share of advance ticket sales, and proceeds from the event were split evenly between the schools.

Breen parent volunteer Cheri McClaughry said the schools earned more than $2,000.
