The city of Rock-lin was recently listed as one of the top 10 towns by Family Circle magazine, due in part to the quality of the area’s businesses. As a tribute to this great effort, the Rocklin Area Chamber of Commerce will honor nine of these fine businesses at a gala event on Tuesday, Dec. 2. One of the most anticipated local awards showcases of the year, the Rocklin Chamber’s Business Excel-lence Awards, takes place at Whitney Oaks Golf Club, where chamber and community members will gather to recognize the nominees as well as network and enjoy a glamorous evening. The festivities begin at 6 p.m. and feature appetizers, wine, treats from Icing on the Cupcake and en-tertainment provided by the Whitney High School jazz band. Beginning in September, community and chamber members were asked to nominate exceptional businesses. To be eligible, companies had to be chamber members in good standing and had to excel in their category. A record number of nominations were received this year. A volunteer committee of chamber members reviewed the nominees and the top three winners were chosen in each of eight categories. The chamber chairman will also choose a recipient for the coveted Chairman’s Award. Sponsorships for the event are still available and start at $125. Each sponsorship includes tickets to the event, the sponsor’s name in the event program, and at least one PowerPoint slide that will be displayed throughout the evening. Tickets for the Business Excellence Awards Reception are $50 per person and are expected to sell out quickly. Tickets can be purchased online at www.RocklinChamber.com or by contacting the chamber at 624-2548.
