Sims Recycling Solutions is teaming up with Telefunken Semiconductors and Pacific Records Management to host a free electronic waste collection day in Roseville on Jan. 19. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Telefunken’s facility at 7501 Foothills Blvd. and also includes document shredding. Representatives from Pacific Records Management said the free paper shredding is limited to three file-size boxes of paperwork per household or business. There is no need to remove staples, folders, paper clips or other metal bindings. Acceptable items for e-waste recycling include televisions, computers, laptops, cell phones, telephones, printers, copiers, fax machines speakers, radios, stereos, keyboards, DVD players and VCRs. Residents are asked not to bring household appliances, batteries, ink/toner cartridges, cans or bottles. Funds from the recycling will go toward a donation to the Roseville Utility Exploration Center, which helps local students learn ways to protect the planet’s natural resources.
