Those who wish to participate in the program will be placed on teams according to ability and not age. The fee is $35. This program has met with great success in other areas as well. The TOPSoccer program in Elk Grove is now in its sixth year for both indoor and outdoor soccer. Baseball Factory and sponsor Under Armour will hold an open tryout June 24 for 12-14 year old players for instruction and possible selection to play on its national team. Players will be evaluated on their strengths and weaknesses and tips on how to improve their games. A complete evaluation will be given via telephone within 72 hours. Those chosen to continue could compete at the Baseball Factory Select Training at the All Star Game, World Series at Pirate City or Cape Cod Select Training and Competition. Beginning at 9 a.m., those who come early can get a video and written evaluation and prescription for a website plus instruction videos to improve performance. The cost is $410 and includes breakfast, lunch and dinner for each day. Day campers only may register for $310. There will be Junior Skills Development for ages 5-9 July 16-19, which runs from 9 a.m. to noon. During that same camp players age 10-18 can sign up for a competition camp for $200.
