CDF employees allegedly robbed at local inn

A couple of state forestry employees staying in Rocklin after the Auburn 49er Wildfire were allegedly victims of thieves while they stayed at the Comfort Suites on Five Star Blvd. According to the police report, the victim’s vehicle was burglarized overnight Sept 1 and $18,000 worth of gear was taken through a broken window. The gear included fire equipment, body armor, a revolver and ammunition, fire radio, GPS device, laptop and a digital camera with pictures of the Auburn Fire on it. The 40-year-old victim is an employee of the California Department of Forestry out of Redding, according to police. ~Jon Brines
