After a very thoughtful and careful search, the city of Rocklin has hired new City Manager Rick Horst to lead the city in the next phase of future growth. Horst brings a wealth of experience in redevelopment, economic development and municipal governance to his new role, gleaned from his tenure as city manager of Ocala, Fla. and South Jordan, Utah. Horst will begin work with the city in mid-February. We look forward to partnering with Mr. Horst and the city of Rocklin to take the city and the chamber to the next level of success. Horst will make his first major public appearance at the Chamber sponsored 2011 State of the City event where he will take the opportunity to introduce himself to the community and to outline general plans for the city’s immediate and long term future. Dave Butler, CEO of LEED-Linking Education and Economic Development and the 2011 Rocklin Chamber chair, will also be reviewing highlights of the chamber’s accomplishments over the last few years and outlining the chamber’s 2011 work plan. State of the City is scheduled for March 25 from 7 – 9 a.m. at the Blue Oaks Cinemas 16. State of the City is an ideal forum for local business, government and community members to receive a glimpse into Rocklin’s future and to hear first hand what’s in store for the city of Rocklin and the Rocklin Chamber. For more information on State of the City or how you can sponsor or buy tickets for the event, contact the Chamber at 624-2548. Robin Trimble is CEO of the Rocklin Area Chamber of Commerce.
