Becky Kanowsky, Child Services coordinator for the Rocklin Police Department, announced that Aurora Jacobsen was the 7,000th child to be fingerprinted by the department. Jacobsen’s fingerprints were taken by Kathy Magnuson during the annual Hot Chili & Cool Cars street fair on Sept. 17. Rocklin Police volunteers provide parents with a free Child Identification Kit that includes a photograph, digital fingerprints, hair sample, safety tips, instructions for collecting a DNA sample and information for obtaining and storing dental records. The kit is provided to parents to keep with the child, particularly when traveling. Volunteers will offer the service at any event where children are present. To arrange for their services, call Mike Nottoli at 625-5416 or Becky Kanowsky at 435-8175.
