Conference concerns aging, elder abuse

The Placer County District Attorney’s Office and Seniors First will host “Strategies for Successful Aging” Saturday, Oct. 25, at William Jessup University, located at 333 Sunset Boulevard in Rocklin. The goal of the free conference and resource fair is to educate the community against elder abuse. Registration and breakfast are from 8 to 8:45 a.m.; the seminar is from 8:45 to11:30 a.m.; and the health and resource fair runs from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required to attend; call (530) 889-9500, extension 215. Seating is limited. A flu shot clinic, provided by Placer County Community Clinics, begins at 11:30 a.m. for conference attendees and at 1 p.m. for non-attendees. Shots are free to Medicare recipients with card and for a nominal fee for others.
