Coon Creek trap shooters take third at nationals

LAS VEGAS, Nev. _ Team Coon Creek out of Lincoln placed third for overall Junior Gun Club at the U.S. Open National Youth Clay Shooting Championships last month. The team took second in the Intermediate Advanced division. Held at the Clark County Shooting Complex, Team Coon Creek scored 922 targets broken out of a possible 1,000. The performance was just 17 targets short of first place. Jack Roth of Penryn placed fourth knocking down 189 of 200 targets. He was just four shots behind the No. 1 athlete. Colten Wills of Loomis was seventh hitting 186 targets. “Everyone of the Team Coon Creek athletes enjoyed at least one perfect round of 25 out of 25 during the competition,” reported Team Coon Creek head coach Jon Roth.
