Cub Scouts getting griddle ready to serve up pancakes

-A +A
There will be more than hot chili on the menu during Rocklin’s annual Hot Chili & Cool Cars event. Cub Scouts with Rocklin Pack 29 will host a pancake breakfast fundraiser from 6:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15. This annual breakfast is Pack 29’s main fundraiser of the year. Scouts and their leaders and parents will be serving syrup-laden pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice at the corner of Oak and Pacific Streets. Tickets are $4 in advance or $5 on the day of the event. There is no charge for children under age 5. Advance tickets can be purchased from Cub Scouts at tables set up outside Rocklin business supporters, including Safeway, Save Mart, and Walgreens. Proceeds from this event support 65 Rocklin boys, ages 6 to 10, who in turn benefit from the development of citizenship, character, and fitness through the Scouting program. The funds help purchase food supplies, cooking and serving items, and scout sales prizes. Cash donations can also be made to help offset printing, area and equipment rental, and other non-donated expenses. For more information or to donate items for the breakfast, call Jeff Sherer at (916) 342-1823 or send an e-mail to Pack29@ Cub Scouts Pack 29 has been part of the Rocklin community since 1949.
