Cub Scouts serving up pancake breakfast during festival

-A +A
Start off your day at the Hot Chili & Cool Cars festival with a pancake breakfast served by members of Rocklin Cub Scout Pack 29 from 6:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17. This annual breakfast event is Pack 29?s main fundraiser of the year. Scouts will be serving syrup-laden pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice to the festival-goers at the corner of Oak and Pacific Streets. Tickets are $4 in advance and $5 the day of the event (children under age 5 served at no cost). Tickets may be purchased in advance from members of Scout Pack 29 at tables set up outside of local merchant supporters such as Bel Air, Save Mart, and Walgreens in Rocklin. Proceeds directly support the 65 Rocklin Cub Scouts, ages 6 to 10, who in turn benefit from the development of citizenship, character, and fitness through the Scouting program. Without support from local businesses, sponsors, and hungry breakfast goers, this event would not be successful. The Scouts are in need of donations of food supplies, cooking and serving items, and scout sales prizes. Cash donations can also be made to help offset printing, area and equipment rental, and other non-donated expenses. For more information or to donate items for the breakfast, call Jeff Sherer at (916) 342-1823 or send an e-mail to Cub Scouts Pack 29, chartered by the Lions Club of Rocklin, has been part of the Rocklin community since 1949. Currently, Pack 29 meets at 7 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month at the Rocklin Community Center.
