Due to a power outage the night prior, the Whitney boys basketball team played Friday night hosting El Camino in the second-to-last game of the season.

After taking a small lead into the half, El Camino controlled the remainder of the game en route to a 48-40 victory.

Turnovers on Whitney's side led to extra possessions for El Camino. The Eagles outscored the Wildcats 28-19 in the second half.

Whitney was without two starters, Nolan Eger (ankle injury) and David Parker (personal).

Matt Gruber scored 16 to lead the Wildcats in points.

Heading into their final game against Mira Loma Feb. 12, the Wildcats will look to end their Capital Athletic League schedule with a win.

Feb. 12 will be Senior Night at Whitney. The school will pay tribute to Eger, Gruber, Diego Rosales, Soren Smith, and J.R Day.
