EPIC holds Second Annual Summer Jam at skatepark

Locals make a good showing in competition

A couple locals did well in the Second Annual Summer Jam held at EPIC Indoor Skateboard Park, Aug. 6. Lincoln’s Joey Kitchens (9) was second in the 9-10-year-old division, and Kenny Kitchens placed second in the 12-14 age division. James Gray, also of Lincoln, was third for the 14-17-year-olds. Joey Kitchens was also award top prize for best trick at the 14-and-under performance. EPIC will co-host a competition with Calvary Christian Church with honored guest Christian Hosoi, Sept. 3. Hosoi is a well-known skateboarder who gained fame during the 1980s and ‘90s. He is considered one of the world’s top skaters. More can be found on this event at Staff Report
