The California Department of Transportation is alerting motorists that beginning on Friday, Nov. 13 at 10 p.m. and continuing until 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, the Eureka Road off-ramp from eastbound I-80 will be closed. A signed detour will be available. Motorists are advised to exit at eastbound Douglas Boulevard, turn left onto Rocky Ridge Drive to get back to Eureka Road. The closure is necessary to reconstruct the ramp and is part of the Sacramento/Placer Interstate 80 Operational and Improvement Project. The $48 million project by Caltrans, Placer County, the city of Roseville and the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency will add more than 5.5 miles of new bus/carpool lanes on Interstate 80 between Eureka Road and the Sacramento / Placer County line. Completion is expected next year. Roadside message boards will be used to post the latest information. Unexpected weather may prolong or cause the work to be rescheduled.
