Evening in the Park concert series starts Friday

The Rocklin Area Chamber of Commerce?s free Evening in the Park summer concert series opens Friday night. Grab your favorite lawn chair or blanket, pack up the family and friends and head to Johnson-Springview Park, 5480 Fifth Street in Rocklin. Concerts will be held on select Friday evenings throughout the summer from 7 to 9 p.m. These evenings are free to the public and feature a variety of food vendors, popular bands and entertainers. Opening the series on Friday will be the Groove Thang Band and Sound offering a diverse mix of dance cover music. Sponsored by Doug and Sharon Stenger, independent distributors with SendOutCards, Dad?s Night will include special prizes and goodies just for dads. Kid?s Night, scheduled for June 22, is being sponsored by Rocklin Pediatric Dentistry. This fun evening will feature bounce houses and special activities for the kids. Featured will be Sing Inc. (Pop Academy) playing some of their top 40 hits. Health and Safety will be the focus of the concert on Friday, July 13. Country singer/songwriter McKenna Faith will be crooning some country music favorites. Health and Safety Night is sponsored by Oracle. The series wraps up with Teacher Appreciation Night on Friday, Aug. 3 and will include special goodies and giveaways for teachers, plus a special raffle at the Rocklin Chamber booth from Walker?s Office Supplies. Sylvan Learning of Roseville returns as sponsor and Apple Z Band will perform their clever treatments of timeless, popular music. Other sponsors supporting the Evening in the Park concert series include title sponsor Kniesel?s Collision Centers and Orion sponsor Rocklin Road Animal Hospital.
