Faller to represent at Miss California Teen pageant

One Rocklin teen will soon be competing for a Miss California Teen crown. Leta Faller, a junior at Rocklin High School, will represent Sacramento Valley in the Miss California Teen USA pageant Nov. 22 in Palm Springs. This pageant will be her fourth — she was previously crowned Little Miss in a South Dakota pageant and was runner up for Miss Teen Placer County Ambassador. Faller said she got her start at the age of 9 after friends gained interest in pageants. Now, she said she enjoys the whole aspect of pageantry, from the competitive aspect to building relationships. “It’s a good way to get involved within the community,” she said. Nine to 10 hours a week, Faller spends volunteering her time to different organizations such as tutoring and volunteering at Eskaton Village. For the upcoming pageant, the 16-year-old will be judged on swimwear and formalwear portions, a backstage, five-panel interview and one on-stage question, which contestants have no time to practice, as it’s not given beforehand. If Faller is crowned Miss California Teen USA at this pageant, she will go on to compete at the Miss Teen USA pageant held in the spring in the Bahamas. Currently she’s hoping to raise approximately $2,000 from donations and sponsorships that will go toward paying for her participation in the pageant.
