A farewell to Editor Gloria Beverage

By: Kelly R. Leibold, Placer Herald publisher

It is with sorrow but yet joy that we say goodbye to the editor of the Placer Herald, Gloria Beverage.

Gloria has been with Gold Country Media since 1979. She started as the Auburn Journal’s community life editor before becoming editor of the Placer Herald in 1987. She then served as editor at the Folsom Telegraph, El Dorado Hills Telegraph, Colfax Record and then back to the Placer Herald, from which she will retire this month.

Gloria will certainly be missed. She has been a pillar for Gold Country Media, the Placer Herald and the community of Rocklin. Her dedication and professionalism were outstanding. I wish her the best of retirement years and good luck in her future endeavors.

Gloria’s successor is Krissi Khokhobashvili. Krissi comes to us from the Auburn Journal, where she served as the features editor. She previously served as the city editor for the Calaveras Enterprise, a bi-weekly newspaper in San Andreas.

Krissi holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in political science from The University of Montana, Missoula, not far from where she grew up in western Montana.

She is excited to get to know the community of Rocklin and to continue to make the Herald an excellent source of local news for Rocklin, just as Gloria has done for years. In addition to producing a high-quality print newspaper each Thursday, stay tuned for an increased online presence via Facebook, Twitter and PlacerHerald.com.
