A blaze caused extensive damage to a Rocklin home Monday night. Approximately 11 p.m. Monday, Rocklin Fire responded to a fire on Midas Avenue in Rocklin. According to Rocklin Fire Battalion Chief Tim Palmer, no injuries were reported. Two people were in the house at the time, but were able to escape after neighbors pounded on the door. Palmer said various neighbors called 911 after seeing the fire or being alerted by barking dogs. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but Palmer said it’s believed to have started in an addition to the house. Firefighters had the fire contained within an hour with help from Loomis and Roseville fire departments as well as South Placer Fire Protection, Palmer said. ~Lauren Gibbs
