Rocklin’s Prigge takes gold in WAC
SAN ANTONIO, Texas _ Former Rocklin resident and student at Whitney High School Hannah Prigge has added to the athletic achievements of California State University Fresno by taking the gold in platform diving at the Western Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships held Feb. 23-25. Prigge, a sophomore at Fresno State, went up against some intense competition. The WAC includes Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana Tech, Nevada Reno, New Mexico State, San Jose State and Utah State. Prigge held a 50-point edge after the preliminary round in the platform diving. She then added another three points in the finals to wrap up the gold medal with a 285.15 total. In the 3-meter springboard competition she achieved a personal best to earn the bronze medal. It was the second time the former Wildcat set a new record in 3-meter springboard for the Bulldogs. With two more years to go, there’s no telling what she might achieve for herself and the ‘Dogs.
