Free services given to jobseekers

Golden Sierra Workforce Investment Board recently announced the launch of free supportive services for employers and jobseekers. The Golden Sierra Business Connections in partnership with the California Employers Association, provides people in Placer, El Dorado and Alpine counties will a business human resource hotline, a series of business assistance workshops and a networking forum for unemployed professionals. ProNet, the free networking forum, will provide unemployed professionals in Place County weekly networking opportunities and resources to help them obtain employment and assist them during transition between jobs. These facilitated networking forums will provide ongoing support, motivation and discussion amongst jobseekers with similar issues, status and experience. The ProNet forums will be held weekly at the Connections Business Resource Centers in Auburn and Roseville. Unemployed professionals interested in participating can access a membership application at www.connectioncenters.com. For more information or questions, contact Daniela Devitt at 396-9298. “Assisting jobseekers in any way we can is a top priority,” said Jason Buckingham, executive director of Workforce Investment Board. “A large portion of the displaced workers in our region have professional backgrounds and the goal of these networking forums is to provide them with the resources and coaching they need to re-enter the workforce.” The services also include a free hotline for employers with questions regarding human resources.
