'Full Figured Felines' in need of homes at Placer SPCA

Need a buddy to help keep your New Year’s weight loss plans on track? How about a cat?

The Placer SPCA in Roseville is waiving adoption fees for “Full Figured Felines” now through Feb. 1.

These cats aged six month and older tip the scales at 12 pounds or more — that’s a whole lot to love.

“Sometimes our more voluptuous felines are overlooked, usually because they’re older,” said Leilani Fratis, CEO of the Placer SPCA. “Generally, it’s not the younger ones that tend to have the middle-age spread, if you will.”

The tubby tabbies would do better in a healthy home environment, where loving owners can supervise them on a “Biggest Loser”-style plan for weight loss, Fratis said.

Plus, you know these guys and gals will never judge you for cheating on your New Year’s resolution.

The Full Figured Felines adoption special is available at all Placer SPCA adoption locations, including Roseville, Auburn and Pet Food Express.

All adoptions from the Placer SPCA include spay or neuter surgery, microchip, vaccinations and a voucher for a free veterinary exam. Visit www.placerspca.org for more information, or call (916) 782-7722 or (530) 885-7387.
