Gandy graduates boot camp

Private 1st Class Codey Gandy, 20, of Rocklin, graduated from United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego on Jan. 14. Private 1st Class Gandy successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at MCRD San Diego as one of 81 recruits in Training Platoon No. 3254. While in basic training, Gandy received the Board of Governors of the Marine Corps Association “Leatherneck Award” for outstanding performance while undergoing recruit training. Gandy additionally was the Platoon “Honor Graduate” as the Platoon’s Leader while at the recruiting depot. Following 10 days home on leave, he will report to Camp Pendleton West for two months at Infantry Training. Gandy will report to Chesapeake, Va. following infantry school for Security Forces Training. Gandy graduated from Del Oro High School in Loomis.
