The Sierra College Music Department will present a Sampler Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, in Dietrich Theater on the Rocklin Campus, 5000 Rocklin Road.
Get a sneak peek at what’s in store from the Music Department this year. The program will feature a mix of classical, jazz, pop and symphonic music performed by the Sierra College Concert and Chamber Choirs, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Choir, as well as several faculty soloists.
Works to be performed include “Fanfare for the Common Man” by Aaron Copland, “Cabeza De Carne” by Matt Harris, Scott Joplin’s Ragtime masterpiece “Swipesy,” “Peter Ring dem Bells” by John Carter, Oscar Peterson’s arrangement of “Somewhere over the Rainbow” by Harold Arlen, “Murder By Numbers” by Sting, and “Colorado Peaks” by Dana Wilson.
Admission is $6 for students/$3 ASSC and $10 general at the door. All proceeds benefit the Music Department. Campus parking fee is $3; permits for sale at dispensers in the campus parking lot.
