Get your chili on and check out some cool cars at 17th annual event
By: Robin Trimble, Rocklin Area Chamber of Commerce CEO
Hot Chili & Cool Cars is one of my all-time favorite events to celebrate each year. It truly is a community affair with local businesses and residents lending their support and volunteering their time to make this annual celebration something to look forward to. Now in its 17th year, Hot Chili & Cool Cars attracts people from all over Northern California to downtown Rocklin to enjoy a day of entertainment, activities and fun for the entire family. Our classic car show is always a big hit and attracts more than 200 vintage, classic and specialty cars. And if you like chili, this is the place to be. Hot Chili & Cool Cars has got chili recipes that range from traditional, to three-alarm spicy to unique. There are always lots of fun activities for the kids and live entertainment fills the streets, along with food, craft and business booths. Hot Chili & Cool Cars is just another example of a community event that puts the small-town feel in our top-10 town. Rocklin has been recognized twice in the last two years as one of America’s best small cities by both CNN’s Money magazine and Family Circle magazine. I am proud to live and work in a city where families and the community can come together for fun and relaxation. So come on out to Hot Chili & Cool Cars on Saturday, Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Pacific Street in Rocklin. The atmosphere is always festive with people of all ages celebrating the last days of summer and welcoming the new fall season. And best of all, it’s free. Hope to see you there!
