Sheila Haut has accepted the newly formed public information officer position at William Jessup University in Rocklin. Haut brings more than 18 years of corporate communications and public relations experience to her position. Most recently, she worked as an account executive with Lauren Hunter Public Relations, where she wrote customer success stories, Web content, press releases and executed media relations activities. Prior to her work with LHPR, Haut was an account executive and research coordinator for GoldRush Communications where she developed competitive analysis reports to differentiate and establish client niches. She has also worked for UB Networks, a subsidiary of Tandem Computers, as internal relations specialist. There she served as newsletter editor, established community relations programs and managed internal corporate events. Before joining UB Networks, Haut acquired 13 years experience publishing technical documentation to support production of space systems hardware with Lockheed Martin. “The University is pleased to have someone of Shelia’s expertise and character serve in this important position,” said Joe Womack, vice president of advancement at William Jessup. “As our university continues its expansion and impact in the region, it became increasingly necessary to effectively communicate its benefits to the community. Sheila’s knowledge of journalism and media will streamline our ability to cultivate new and existing relationships with the greater Sacramento area.” Haut holds a Master’s of science degree in journalism and mass communications, with emphasis in public relations and a Bachelor’s of arts in communications from San Jose State University. She is married with two children and resides in Roseville.
