The Rocklin Historical Society is excited to announce the beginning of a community-wide fundraising campaign to build a replica of Rocklin’s Front Street Firehouse. It will be constructed in Heritage Park, not far from its original location. This firehouse, built in 1883, served the downtown area into the 1940s, when it was replaced. During that time, it also served – periodically – as a meeting place for our city council. The city’s marshal maintained a small office there, too. We’re asking everyone in our community to donate $3 to the campaign so we can break ground this summer. Contributions of $50 from each of our business owners would also be gratefully appreciated. Send your donations to the Rocklin Historical Society, P.O. Box 1, Rocklin, CA 95677. Or visit the History Museum any Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. and drop off your donation. The museum is at the corner of Rocklin Road and San Francisco Street. All donations are tax deductible. Our new slogan for this fundraising campaign is “Our History, Our Heritage, Our Community!” Skip Gebel, President, Rocklin Area Historical Society
