Icing on Cupcake hosts benefit for local family

-A +A
Icing On The Cupcake (IOTC) has always been known to deliver the finest ingredients and most delightful taste in every bite. Now they are making every last bite count with a fundraiser to benefit a Georgetown family. Christee Owens, co-owner of IOTC, is a childhood friend of the family. She graduated from Del Oro High School with one of the Paquet family’s daughters. Last week the Paquet family lost their father, Vincent, who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer prior to Christmas. With no health insurance, this family has struggled to pay mounting hospital bills and now funeral expenses. Placer County communities have been hosting fundraisers and collecting donations in hopes of easing the family’s stress during these tough times. Icing On The Cupcake has joined in the movement with a fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on March 24 at the original IOTC store, 5065 Pacific Street in Rocklin. From open to close, Icing on the Cupcake will donate all proceeds from sales at that location to the Paquet family. “Whether you come by every day for a daily dose or are sampling IOTC for the first time, this is the day to stop by and help a local family in need,” said Owens. “Every bite helps!”
