On Nov. 3, William Jessup University hosted the Jessup Gala, an event that raises funds for student scholarships. This year the elegant event raised over $120,000 for student scholarships.
More than 300 people attended the evening festivities, which took place in the university's Academic Warehouse, creatively transformed to reflect an elegant space – complete with a seating lounge and piano bar, silent auction and black-and-white details throughout.
The Jessup Gala program featured the university’s specific vision as a Christ-centered university, as the themes of innovation, inspiration and impact highlighted William Jessup University’s effect in the region and beyond.
Jenny Williamson, founder of Courage Worldwide (formerly Courage to Be You, an international organization that rescues girls from the life of sex trafficking) was honored with the Impact Award for her continued efforts to help reclaim the lives of victims of this horrific tragedy.
The evening program was emceed by KLOVE on air personality JD Chandler and also featured Jessup President Dr. John Jackson as he discussed his vision for the growing university and delivered an interactive “State of the University Address.”
The gala included live music performances by Crossroads, an artistic presentation group consisting of nine WJU students who intersperse drama with high-energy musical performances.
