Jessup Warriors fall in CalPac semifinals

Lady Warriors win streak ends

The William Jessup University men’s basketball season came to close last week after dropping a 71-62 decision to Holy Names University in Oakland during the California Pacific Conference semifinals, Saturday. Warriors’ senior Preston Bramow of Roseville led the club with 16 points and grabbed six rebounds. Fellow seniors Marqus Crawford had 13 points and Anthony Anderson, also of Roseville, added 11. Quarterfinals _ Anderson and Rocklin resident Jordan Wilson, a junior, scored 12 points apiece to knock Pacific Union College out of the postseason tournament, 73-68. Crawford also came up big contributing 11 points to the mix. Crawford also had six rebounds and six assists in the contest. William Jessup concluded its 2011-12 campaign with an overall record of 12-17, and 6-6 in the CalPac Conference. WOMENS BASKETBALL The Lady Warriors shooting went stone cold against Simpson University allowing the Redhawks to claim a 66-51 victory in the CalPac Conference postseason tournament quarterfinals, Feb. 23. William Jessup sophomore Taylor Borba lit up the nets with 18 points, in spite of the Warriors 28-percent shooting from the floor. Borba classmate Alexandria Westbrook dropped in 10 for the Rocklin university. William Jessup closed out its season at 5-21, 4-6 in conference. Borba and senior Maria Viola were named to the CalPac’s All Conference team.
