Karen Garner appointed Rocklin’s public affairs and economic growth manager
Karen Garner has been appointed public affairs and economic growth Manager for the city of Rocklin, effective Oct. 22. Prior this appointment, Garner served as the economic development coordinator for the city of Roseville with more than 17 years of progressive experience and a proven track record of success in economic development and local government.
Garner holds a bachelor of arts degree in communications and public relations from California State University and a master’s degree in urban planning.
“She is highly regarded in her field and comes to the city of Rocklin with great references from both the public and private sector,” according to a media release from City Manager Rick Horst’s office.
Garner is tasked with the development and implementation of Rocklin’s economic growth agenda and will chair and coordinate the activities of the city’s economic growth team.
“I am delighted to have Karen on my team,” Horst said. “In light of the dissolution of the Rocklin Redevelopment Agency, we must create a new path to strategically position Rocklin for emerging economic growth opportunities. Karen’s leadership and experience will be crucial to these efforts.”
