Kids Junction what’s your function?

Program offers summertime fun
-A +A
The kids are excited about the break from homework and schoolwork, but parents may be cringing at the thought of how to keep the kids busy this summer. Not to worry, Kids Junction summer camp has plenty to tire the kids out. With varying sites at Rocklin’s elementary schools, kindergartners through sixth-graders won’t be bored. Kids Junction at Rocklin Elementary includes trips to nearby Memorial Park for the water play areas, savory sweets at ice cream parties, barbecues and themed pot lucks such as Italian food, subs and finger foods, crafts and more. Ruhkala Elementary’s Kids Junction also includes dress-up days with super hero, rock star, pirates and mermaid-themed attire, a field trip to the Rocklin Fire Department, pizza parties and video game days. Kids can enjoy a hula-hoop contest at Sierra Elementary’s Kids Junction site, as well as water balloon launches and snow cones. The additional Rock Creek, Valley View and Twin Oaks sites also include just as much fun for kids this summer. Each site’s calendar varies with activities ranging from field trips, indoor and outdoor sports, arts and crafts, water play, games and more. Kids Junction runs through Aug. 8 with a $36 a day fee or $170 for a week.
