Letter to Editor: History series set March 14

-A +A
The Rocklin Historical Society is presenting a series of free programs about Rocklin’s place in the history of California. March 14 will be the first program in the series of four. Ken Morrow will present the story of the Whitney family and their influence on this area of Placer County. They were a colorful family with ties to very influential people in the United States and in England. You’ve heard the name, Twelve Bridges, and perhaps noticed the many old, crumbling, rock walls here and there in some of the undeveloped areas in Rocklin. Why are they there and who built them? Come and learn about Rocklin’s largest ranch, it’s 12 bridges, Whitney’s “8-mile road,” and the mystery of the pyramid. We’ll have coffee and refreshments along with the stories, so please join us at old St Mary’s chapel on Front Street at 7 p.m. on March 14. Janet Dunlap, Rocklin
