Lincoln resident helps police link Rocklin burglaries
By: Staff report
At about 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 30, an alert Lincoln resident noticed a pick-up truck backed halfway into a neighbor’s garage with the garage door pulled down to the bed of the truck in the 500 block of Tara Bella Drive in Lincoln. Thinking this looked suspicious she called the Lincoln Police Department. Upon investigation Lincoln officers learned that the truck belonged to a relative of the resident but found property in the garage that turned out to be stolen. Multiple wide-screen LCD televisions and tools worth $6,800 were found and two individuals were identified. Lincoln police officers contacted the Rocklin Police Department whose officers were investigating recent thefts near the Lincoln/Rocklin city limits. Several model homes and a vehicle were burglarized during the early morning hours in Rocklin. Rocklin Police connected the dots and linked the two subjects to the very recent thefts. Arrested was Eric Montes Swartz, 25, of Modesto, and Michael Vern Inahara Jr., 23, of Modesto for multiple counts of residential burglary and for vehicle burglary. Additionally, both were arrested for conspiracy, possessing stolen property and other charges. Both are being held at the Placer County Jail. Swartz’s bail is $165,000 and Inahara’s bail is $185,000. “Both Rocklin and Lincoln Police Departments routinely work closely together to help ensure the safety of citizens and protect the property of south Placer County area residents,” said Rocklin Police Lt Lon Milka.
