The combined duo of Michael Hamp and Leo Martinez helped Lincoln move past Auburn 5-0 Monday in the second game of the District 11, Area 1 Majors Division All-Star tournament being played at Rocklin Little League. Hamp recorded six strikeouts while allowing a single hit in three innings of work. Lincoln?s starter did not allow a runner in scoring position while he was on the mound. Martinez finished what his teammate started, but allowed one runner to get past second base with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Lincoln?s offensive productivity came from the back half of their lineup. The six, seven, eight and nine holes combined to go 4-for-9 with three runs scored and three runs driven in. Greden McFarlin belted a first-pitch home run in the fifth-inning to cap the club?s five-run performance. McFarlin, who did not start, went 2-for-2. Lincoln will now await the winner of Tuesday?s Rocklin vs. Tri-City game. The game will be played on July 5. Auburn and Bear River will now play Tuesday in the first elimination game of the tournament. The Bear River boys lost a 6-1 decision to Tri-City Monday night.
