Loder now ranked seventh in nation at 184 pounds

Northern Iowa University wrestler Ryan Loder, a graduate of Granite Bay High School, has climbed to seventh in the nation at 184 pounds in the latest Intermat rankings, which were released Tuesday.

Loder has a 21-8 overall record this season. He has won nine matches in a row and 14 of his last 16.

Loder has victories over 10th-ranked Chris Perry of Oklahoma State, No. 11 Josh Ihnen of Nebraska and No. 16 Mike Larson of Missouri, all by decision, and a pin over No. 12 Grant Gambrall of Iowa.

Granite Bay lands six on All-Section team
Mitchell Kobayashi was one of six Granite Bay water polo players named to the All-Section first and second teams, and he was named to the sixth team of the California-Hawaii All-America team.

Selected to the All-Section first team with Kobayashi were Grizzlies teammates Andrew Murch and Zack Meyer. Named to the second team were Ryan McCallister, Elliott Adams and Rob Cunha.

Pre-registration open for eighth Run Rocklin
Adults and kids can pre-register for the eighth annual Run Rocklin, scheduled for Sunday, April 3, at Johnson-Springview Park in Rocklin.

Early registration costs $29 for adults and $15 for kids 18 and under. Race-day costs are $34 and $20. Teams of six or more also can sign up.

The 12K run is scheduled for 8 a.m. and the 5K run/walk at 8:15. A free quarter-mile kids fun run is scheduled for 7:45, and there is a free one-mile run for kids at 9:30.

There were 2,600 participants in last year’s event, which helps raise money for the Matt Redding Scholarship Foundation. The foundation has given $34,000 in memory of Redding, a Rocklin police officer who was killed on duty in October 2005 when he was struck by a vehicle driven by an intoxicated driver.
