Loomis teenager dies in Rocklin

Vigil scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday

UPDATE: Due to the overwhelming number of friends and family who came to pay their respects to Brad Schlimmer, at 6:30 p.m. authorities moved the vigil to the Del Oro High School parking lot. 12:30 P.M. UPDATE: A candlelight vigil will be held at 6 p.m. today, March 5, for Brad Schlimmer, who died yesterday evening in a solo car crash. According to Brad’s aunt, Davina Weaver, the vigil will be at the site of the accident, which took the Del Oro High School student’s life. The accident occurred on Pacific Street in Rocklin, across from the Live Oak Tavern. 12:10 P.M. UPDATE: A Del Oro High School junior lost his life in an automobile accident last night, according to his aunt, Davina Weaver, of Weimar. The victim is Brad Schlimmer, 17, whom Weaver described as a “big bear of a kid” who just loved everyone. According to Andy Portillo. Loomis Fire Protection District spokesman, the single-vehicle accident occurred in the jurisdiction of the Rocklin Fire Department, near the Loomis border, on Pacific Street between Dominguez and Sierra College Boulevard, in Rocklin. Portillo said the fatality occurred when the vehicle hit a tree, causing a fire, and that the driver was trapped in the vehicle. A young male died in an automobile accident at about 7:58 p.m. Friday, March 4, according to Loomis Fire Protection District spokesman Andy Portillo.
