Mailbox break-ins reported in Rocklin

Eight cluster mailboxes have been broken into in Rocklin within the last few weeks, according to Capt. Lon Milka of the Rocklin Police Department.

Milka said the break-ins usually occurred in the middle of the night, when the outgoing mail slot of cluster boxes was pried open and mail taken. No arrests have been made.

“We don’t have any suspects,” he said. “We just caution people to maybe consider using the post office rather than the outgoing cluster box.”

The thefts occurred in the Hunter Drive and Iroquois Road area of Rocklin, and in the Blue Oaks/Lonetree area within the last 10 to 14 days. Milka said anyone with information about the thefts should call the Rocklin PD at (916) 625-5400, or the Postal Inspection Service at (877) 876-2455.
