It was an evening of excess last Thursday as Carte Jewelers hosted a Mardi Gras-themed mixer for the Loomis Chamber of Commerce.
Owner Roy Arriaga pulled out all the stops for the mixer, handing out masks party-goers, many of whom were already in colorful costumes. A parade snaked around the parking lot featuring Mardi Gras costumes and fire jugglers, and Dr. Bach and the Jazz Practitioners played upbeat music throughout the night.
A lively raffle featured prizes from area businesses, and a catfish-and-jambalaya dinner was served, complete with King cake for dessert.
