Margie Younger, former ?Chatterbox? columnist for the Placer Herald, will celebrate her 90th birthday on Friday. A birthday celebration in her honor will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at Roseville Commons (behind Trader Joe?s) in Roseville Square. ?Nothing would make her happier than to visit with old friends,? said her daughter, Kippy Martin. ?If you can?t attend, then perhaps you could send a birthday card. She would be so thrilled to hear from you.? A resident of Roseville, Younger and her husband, Jack, put together Club Chatter, a column for the Press Tribune that recognized service clubs in the greater Roseville area. Younger was an active volunteer for the Rocklin Historical Society and the Rocklin Area Chamber of Commerce. She and her husband were named Grand Marshalls of the Rocklin Jubilee. Younger grew up in Columbus, Ohio and came to California with her husband and infant son at the end of World War II. The family resided in Marin County for 40 years before moving to Roseville to be close to their daughter and grandchildren. Her son, John, is a professor at Kansas University and daughter, Kippy Martin, is a fifth-grade teacher at Ridgeview Elementary School in Granite Bay. Birthday greetings can be mailed to Margie Younger, 275 Folsom Road, Apt. 113, Roseville, CA 95678. ~ Staff report
