Men caught on video stealing safe from Loomis liquor store

Placer County Sheriff's Office seeking public's help in identifying suspects

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects who’ve been video-recorded taking a safe out of a liquor store in Loomis.

At approximately 4:20 a.m. Saturday, two men forced their way into the Stone Tree Liquor & Food store on Taylor Road in Loomis. Once inside, they allegedly removed the business’ safe and then fled in a light-colored vehicle, possibly a tan or gold mid-1990s to 2000 Honda Civic or similar, according to a press release issued Wednesday afternoon by the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.

One of the suspects is described as 5-feet, 10-inches to 6-feet tall and weighing approximately 250 pounds and wore a sweatshirt with the word “Skin” on the front in white lettering.

The second suspect is roughly 5-feet, 8-inches tall and weighs around 165 pounds and wore a black hooded sweatshirt with the word “Champion” in red letters on the back and jeans. A witness saw another suspect fleeing with the group.

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to view the video and if anyone has information on the suspects or the burglary to contact Detective Ryan West at (916) 652-2423.

Anyone wishing to remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Placer County Crime Stoppers at (800) 923-8191, or go to the Placer County Crime Stoppers website at and report anonymous tips. All tips are confidential and information leading to an arrest, or arrests, can earn a reward of up to $1,000.
