AUBURN CA - An Auburn pharmacist reported missing Aug. 9 has been located in San Jose. The Rocklin Police Department said it received notification from San Jose Police late Friday that 35-year-old Viktoriya Ioffe – a pharmacist at North Auburn’s Walgreen’s – had been found. “She was OK and has spoken with her family,” Rocklin Police Lt. Lon Milka said. Ioffe was reported missing by her family Aug. 9 after she didn’t show up for work at her job in Auburn. She had left no word that she would be gone, which authorities and family members considered unusual. Rocklin detectives tracked her whereabouts Aug. 8 to San Jose, where she had been seen outside the Santana Row shopping center by a security guard. But the trail had grown cold until Friday. Ioffe’s car and some of her personal belongings were found at Santana Row but there was no sign of the missing woman for several weeks. Detectives continued to work the case while media in both the Bay Area and Placer County reported on the mysterious disappearance of a woman who had shown no signs before she vanished of planning to do anything but return to work on Aug. 9. Rocklin Police issued a statement at 10:30 p.m. Friday that Ioffe had been located, adding that the department “is considering this case closed.” Milka said Ioffe is voluntarily staying in San Jose but hasn’t volunteered any details surrounding the reasons for her sudden disappearance. “She wants to stay in San Jose,” Milka said. “And she’s not obligated to provide information on why she is.”
