Rocklin’s new city manager will earn a base salary of $198,000 a year – $34,000 less than current City Manager Carlos Urrutia earned working full time.
The city announced Monday that Rick Horst of Florida was appointed Rocklin’s city manager effective mid February.
The contract states that Horst will earn $198,000 a year with no increase for the first two years. Included in the agreement is a car and cell phone allowance of $750 a month, moving expenses not to exceed $15,000 and unlimited accumulation of sick leave with no sick leave pay out at the termination of employment.
The salary agreement will be up for approval by Rocklin City Council at their Tuesday, Dec. 14 meeting. The public will have an opportunity to comment to the full city council at that time.
