New priest to lead St. Augustine Episcopal Church

The Rt. Rev. Barry Beisner, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California, officiated at installation ceremonies for the new vicar at St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church in Rocklin. The new vicar is the Rev. Elizabeth Armstrong, who will be tasked with leading the congregation in the development of a new church campus. Plans for the campus include a multi-purpose worship space, a cultural community learning center, and eventually a sanctuary. Pastor Armstrong grew up in the Placerville area and earned a master’s degree in audiology at California State University Sacramento in 1983. She worked for 18 years as an audiologist in private practice before entering the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in 1997. After she completed studies for a Master of Divinity degree in 2001, Pastor Armstrong was ordained at Faith Episcopal Church in Cameron Park. She served as their assistant rector for 10 years. St. Augustine is located at 1800 Wildcat Bouelvard.
